Expanded Graphing Capabilities

For any graph available in TreeAge Pro™, a dialog in TreeAge Pro Excel will offer the option of creating an analogous Excel graph. Once in Excel, the graphs can be easily customized and even combined with other graphs, including graphs from other sources.

Utilize Excel to Customize TreeAge Pro's Text Reports

A single mouse-click will suffice to export reports directly to Excel without the complication of using the clipboard or other intermediary. Once in Excel, both design and content of the reports can easily be customized.

Convert Excel Models into Influence Diagrams

For modelers who begin by building a deterministic model in Excel, TreeAge Pro™ Excel can largely automate the conversion of the Excel model into an influence diagram, based on the values and formulas specified in the spreadsheet model. As initially generated, the influence diagram will not have any chance or decision nodes as these concepts are foreign to spreadsheet analysis. But the missing nodes and influences are easily added in TreeAge Pro™, and once the influence diagram is completeTreeAge Pro™ can convert it into a fully functioning, asymmetrical decision tree. This both speeds the process and avoids the risk of human error in transferring values and formulas between models.

Create and Manage Bi-directional Links from within Excel
TreeAge Pro™ Excel includes an Excel add-in (*xla.file) that adds a TreeAge Pro™ menu to the main Excel menu bar. From the TreeAge menu it will be possible to define and manipulate bi-directional links to TreeAge Pro™ models. The ability to do this from within Excel greatly simplifies the process of defining links and reduces the chance of error. Functions available under the TreeAge menu include:

  • Define the selected cell or range as a link input or output in TreeAge Pro™
  • Locate this cell/range in TreeAge Pro™ and select the node or nodes where the link is used
  • List cells/ranges used by TreeAge Pro™ and go to the selected cell

In addition the addition can re-graph some of the graphs generated by
TreeAge Pro™. For example, after graphing the distribution of outcomes of a Monte Carlo simulation the user may want to change the number of intervals into which the data is partitioned.
