TreeAge Pro run-time licenses are available for individuals that want to open trees
and run analyses, but not edit trees.
To purchase a run-time license, contact our Sales Department.
The installation process is the same for regular licenses and run-time licenses.
However, when the software is authorized using a run-time license, the model
editing functions are disabled.
With a full license, it is possible to create a Custom Interface front-end for
a model. Then, someone with a run-time license can edit some values through
the Custom Interface prior to running analyses. See Chapter 25 of the TreeAge
Pro User's Manual for details on creating a Custom Interface.
It is also possible to modify a tree so that it forces the receiver to open it as a run-time license
even if the receiver actually has a full license. This allows the publisher to prevent the
receiver from modifying the model.
To do this, you must use the Run-Time Converter
tool. When converting the regular model to a run-time model, there are a few options available.
- Include "<rto> <mimic>" at the end of the text...
When the tree is opened in a fully licensed installation of TreeAge Pro, the user will be prompted to switch to/mimic run-time
mode (after accepting the user-specified license agreement). When done with that model, the user can close and open TreeAge Pro
to regain the full version functionality.
- Include "<rto> <agree>" at the end of the text...
The tree can be opened in a fully licensed installation of TreeAge Pro with full functionality, but only after agreeing to the license text
entered when converting the tree with the converter tool.
- Include "<rto> <object>" at the end of the text...
The tree can only be opened in runtime mode, but it can be accessed from the Object Interface.
