Any TreeAge Pro user with a current license (see below) can install the latest beta version of TreeAge Pro 2007.
Here are some of the new features in the 2007 release:
- Modify and analyze trees via scripting using the new TreeAge Pro object interface.
- Create user-defined functions using the Python language. Use those functions directly in variable definitions.
- Run analyses faster with the new, more efficient statistical calculation methods.
- Enhancements to Variable/Formula Editor.
For more details on what is included with TreeAge Pro 2007, please refer to the
v2007 tech note (PDF)
and
latest beta release notes.
- The beta installation currently requires an annual license or support
contract current as of January 1, 2007. In your current TreeAge Pro,
check your expiration date under Help > License Manager.
- The beta patch does not replace your currently installed TreeAge Pro application, but
installs a "TreeAgePro-beta.exe" in the same folder, adding additional links to the START menu and desktop.
An existing TreeAge Pro 2006 install is required.
- The patch does replace the TreeAge add-in for Excel with the v2007
add-in. This means that some TreeAge menu commands in Excel will only work with TreeAge Pro 2007,
although many export commands from TreeAge Pro 2006 will still work
.
- In Beta 7, the name of the COM library changed from "DataATLLib" to "TreeAgeProLib".
If you used a previous beta version of the library in Excel macros, for example, this change will
require you to fix these existing projects by removing the old reference, closing and saving the project, and
then adding the new reference to the "TreeAge Pro 2007.1.0 Type Library":
