Manual License Authorization

The easiest way to unlock TreeAge Pro is via the Help > License Manager dialog's Internet Authorization option. If your computer is unable to use Internet Authorization (see below), you can use the Manual Authorization option to register for a site key at the web site.

If you are ready to get your site key, click here.

If you have additional questions, or encounter any problems getting or using a site key, send an e-mail to sitekey@treeage.com.

License Manager Errors & Issues

Error code -102
TreeAge Pro – This error usually means that, under Windows XP/NT/2000, it may be necessary to reinstall/update while logged in as a computer administrator. To get the latest download please visit our Download Software Section . If your license has been unlocked previously, it also may be necessary to get a new authorization – just send an e-mail to TreeAge (sitekey@treeage.com) requesting the reauthorization.
In DATA Pro or 4.0 – This error usually means that, under Windows XP/NT/2000, the user's login does not have "Write" privileges for the "C:\Program files\Common Files\TreeAge\Sitekey\" directory's files. Have an administrator enable these privileges for this subdirectory. If this doesn't work, it may be necessary to reinstall/update.

Error code -103
This error usually means that, under Windows XP/NT/2000, it may be necessary to first uninstall the license service, and then reinstall it. To uninstall the license service, log in as a computer administrator, go to the ..\TreeAge Pro\Private\ subdirectory (or ..\DATA\Private\) and run the Fix Crypkey utility's shortcut. After restarting the computer, try running TreeAge Pro again and see if you are able to do the authorization. You may get a new, -102 error message, in which case you will need to run the latest software update (again, while logged in as a computer administrator). To get the latest TreeAge Pro download please visit our Download Software Section .

License lost immediately after unlocking
In a few cases, immediately after successfully unlocking the TreeAge Pro license, the software will fail to start and ask you to unlock again. This problem is normally resolved by simply restarting the computer.

Unlocked license lost after upgrading to Windows XP
If you unlocked your license under Windows 95/98, and then update the computer's operating system to Windows XP, you will need to get a new authorization. Send an e-mail to
