12.5 Defining Variables at a Specific Node
The easiest way to define a new or existing variable at a specific node is to right-click on that node and choose Define Variable from the context menu. This lets you create/define a new variable or define an existing variable at that node.
In the figure above, note that the variables pJury_CoalBad and pJury_CoalCause are both defined at the selected node as indicated by the checkmarks.
To define a new variable at a specific node:
-
Right-click on the appropriate node and choose Define Variable > New Variable.
-
Enter the variable name and enter a definition. Note that the radio button selection indicates that the definition will be placed at the selected node rather than the root node.
To define an existing variable at a specific node:
-
Right-click on the appropriate node and choose Define Variable and choose an existing variable from the list.
-
Enter the definition to be placed at that node.
The Definition info field is free text that can be used to describe the definition itself.
For more information on variable definitions at nodes, see section Variables Definitions View.
