Washington, DC - Advanced Markov/DES (2016)

2016/05/20 - 2016/05/20 | Washington, DC Sold Out

This course will be offered in Washington, DC on May 20, 2016.

Microtek Training Center
1110 Vermont Avenue NW, Suite 700
Washington, District of Columbia 2005

The course will run from 8:30 AM to about 5:00 PM.

This one-day training course provides hands-on instruction with advanced modeling and analysis techniques.

The course starts with a Markov patient simulation model with complex formulas using the treatment strategy, health state and prior events to determine values in the model. In Module 2, we build a Discrete Event Simulation (DES) model, adding non-fixed risk and background mortality. Module 3 covers Markov models with a dynamic cohort size to reflect both prevalence and incidence. Module 4 explores a parallel trials model which includes interaction among patients competing for a limited resource. Module 5 covers three topics – time reporting to generate a history of every step in each patient’s individual pathway; debugging techniques for reviewing internal model calculations; and subgroup analysis splitting a heterogeneous cohort into subgroups based on patient characteristics.

Course Agenda

Note that experience with TreeAge Pro is required as a prerequisite for the course. You should be comfortable with all topics covered in the Two-Day Healthcare Modeling course.
