15.5 Changing what the tree calculates - Calculation Method "Cost-Effectiveness"

The Cost-Effectiveness Tree Preferences category is presented below and included as part of the Healthcare version of TreeAge Pro.

Cost payoff

Select the payoff set to use for cost calculations from among the enabled payoff sets. The payoff set is numbered, so in the figure above payoff 1 is where we capture costs to be used in the CE Analysis.

Effectiveness payoff

Select the payoff set to use for effectiveness calculations from among the enabled payoff sets. The payoff set is numbered, so in the figure above payoff 2 is where we capture effectiveness to be used in the CE Analysis.

Both the above controls work the same as the Active payoff in the Calculation Method "Simple" preferences, that is you can enter any number of payoffs at each terminal node. In a CE Analysis, you can use any two of the enabled payoff/reward sets.

There are some additional Tree Preferences related to the cost-effectiveness calculation method are described below:

Calculation method "Cost-Effectiveness" - C/E Parameters

The Cost-Effectiveness - C/E Parameters Tree Preferences category is presented below. This is where you can set the values related to Willingness-to-Pay, Minimum effectiveness and Maximum cost.

More details about setting up a CE model are provided in Building and Analysing Cost Effectiveness Models.

Calculation method "Weighted Multi-Attribute"

The Cost-Effectiveness, Weighted Multi-Attribute Costs Tree Preferences category is presented below.
